I believe my mission in life is to be a catalyst in liberating little girls into a life of hope, love and a future of promise.
This is the reason I began creating my lovely jewellery in the beginning and I know that with God’s leading and Your help this mission can become a reality.
One of my main reasons for going to India earlier in February of this year was to discern where God would have me become involved in rescuing little girls from the atrocity of sex-trafficking – and I believe God has answered that prayer. Though I visited three amazing ministries working hard in the heart of Sonagachi, Kolkata’s red light district, God led me to the Eastern Hills region of Andhra Pradesh. There I met a faithful pastor (Philip) and a growing team of missionary church planters that are working among 14 different tribal groups. Tribal people, along with Dalits (or untouchables), are the most vulnerable and exploited people within India’s caste system.
At present they have rescued ten little girls, ranging in age from 7-13 years. Here they are pictured below. One of the ten girls is not pictured, as she is away being treated for Sickle Cell Anemia. The young lady with the green scarf, just to the left of me, is a Bible College student who lives with, and cares for the girls at present. They are holding in their hands some Lush skin care products that were donated by the Melbourne company for girls and women that I visited.
At an existing training centre, Philip has desired to construct on the second storey of the centre, a safe home for the ten girls. He only had the funds to construct the roof, so the building had to stop. While there, God made it clear to give him the additional funds to fully complete and furnish the home for the girls. In addition, I gave him enough money to cover the support of the ten girls through the end of June 2014.
Below is a photo of the house that will be completed in the next couple of months.
I want to thank you for the personal interest you have shown for these little girls. If you would like any further information on Little Sisters, please do not hesitate to contact me by email – rebheccajayne@gmail.com
Here are all ten girls in a recent photo.
Join me in praying that God will enable me to provide for the ongoing care of these girls and others that will be rescued in the future.
Love,
Bhec
